All Pain and Suffering in Life is designed to lead us back into Truth
No matter how confusing things may seem at the moment, the purpose of our present experience is simple, to bring us back to realization. Life can present us with different situations and challenges. Regardless of where we find ourselves, what we need is a genuine openness to look at things just as they are (without all the overlays, beliefs, ideas, stories that we are so used to). We can then examine and begin breaking down the lies which have bound us. Lies of thought, identity, "I", "me", mind and ego. We can return to what the ancient traditions have been striving all these years to point us to: Know the Truth, and Be Set Free *Note: notice how it says KNOW the Truth. The only way is to KNOW. It doesn't help you to Think About, Accept, or even Deeply Believe in anything. This is not about changing or altering your beliefs. There is no new philosophical or religious story, idea or concept that will ever save you from the experience of human suffering. All there is to do is to see through it. The good news is that all you need is one innocent moment. A moment of honesty where you put everything aside and really look. |
Let's start right here,
|
1) Ask: What am I chasing for in Life right now, will it give me the lasting peace/ happiness/ joy that I truly am seeking?
Whatever it is the mind believes it needs to be "happier", it will activate to body to chase after. If you'd like to save time and catch a hint of what the future outcome of this chase would be..... simply ask this question: "What happened the last time round?" Not what we hope or believe will happen once we get the "shiny object/ situation/ feeling" this time, but what actually happened IN REALITY before. Did any outward thing ever bring lasting peace or happiness? This doesn't solve the human condition but brings a good start by saving a whole deal of time otherwise wasted in pursuit of counterfeit pleasures. Get this part sorted so the real looking can begin. Recommendations: I. Watch "The Human pursuit of lasting happiness" II: Ask yourself: What do "I" really want? Answers have come in many different names, such as unconditional joy, rest, peace, or an indescribable urge to "fill the deep intuition I feel within that something is not right or missing". How frustrating is this when it's likely that I can't even clearly state or say that I know what I am even truly searching for. Is there even any hope?

2) Start looking and examining things yourself
You don't have to believe anything new. Please don't. All you need now is to be honest and look. It's time to step out of the land of childish belief and return to what is. If you are willing, together we will question everything you think you already know, and see for ourselves what is True in you. Resist the temptation to blindly believe anything as this will not help you. If something is to be of Truth, all it takes is a simple child-like look. Look, check, see. All of your other previously "memorized" and "accepted" beliefs have not been able to deliver you from the unending internal struggles and suffering. Neither will the next new belief. Don't fear that you will lose anything: your current ideas, beliefs, idols, concepts, imaginary friends or even GOD (your idea of). Your "GOD" does not need your concern as ALL THAT IS TRUE IS NOT POSSIBLE TO DESTROY.... You don't destroy anything just by "disbelieving" it. Gravity and mosquitos still exist regardless of our beliefs. Light does not destroy WHAT EXISTS, all it does is help to dispel illusions and shadows. Recommendations: I. A Practice of Truth-Inquiry
Reclaiming our original sight by honest inquiry is the most direct way. When we view the world from a colored perspective, we easily see problems and issues where none really exist. Our resulting actions will often be misguided too. By inquiring into these beliefs, we see behind how things seem to be, and into how they truly are. With One Clear Look, we can save ourselves time from having to fight unnecessary battles and enjoy the benefits of a clear, simplistic worldview. The uneducated man now takes a look into the precise law of gravity and how it may indeed be what was responsible for delivering the ripe apple from the top of the tree into the warm welcoming of his hands. This new insight would be a stark contrast to his initial story-belief that the apple was given to him by the almighty invisible fairy-fruitree-grandgodmother as a reward for his numerous two-hour prayer sessions, done daily in a prostrated position under the tree. Through questioning, all fluff and illusion can be broken down till there is only knowing left, and knowing cannot come or go. In this way, we can stop accumulating unnecessary views and beliefs, and instead begin to find out and deal with what is real and true. It may get uncomfortable, but it's time to check out what's really there, time to wake up. |
